I always thought it was because the drivers thought it was a mickey-mouse circuit.

I'm assuming it's perhaps as obvious to you as it is to me, but $$$.

Quote from ACCAkut :Apparently they go another route of green racing, by use of a Hydrogen Rotary. Which in my eyes is realistic since its their masterpeice atm, and they were developing in that direction already (the Furai was basicely a Courage LMP1 chassis with a mindboggling hull)

Quote from NigelY :I'm not knocking people running current servers but does anyone else think that newer add-on control systems are distracting from an earlier sim ethos?
As Beano said in an earlier post why would you want to disappear to the pits just because of a spin? I was on a server a while back, was knocked into a spin/slide and couldn't believe I ended up spectated and being told off. Sim racing should be about total concentration on the track, clipping points, awareness of cars around you and the such , some of these servers now you can't see the bloody track because of a sea of glaring irrelevant text. Just wondering if LFS has lost it's more mature/older racers because of things like this.

We have a winner.

Airio is brilliant in the fact it can do so many things to help admins run servers, it has so many different functions that you can do whatever you want with it. Sadly several people seem to think that this means their server has to have EVERYTHING Airio has to offer and so it goes about spamming people screens with various things, e.g. "You made contact with JO53PHS [UFB] @ 5,5 - YES I KNOW THAT, I CAN SEE.

I think I got into LFS just as CTRA was in its heyday and I thought it was brilliant. I don't think anything quite on the same scale is possible at the moment (what with LFS "dying") but LFS is craving for a max-2 class (probably TBO/STD) non-tiered server with a half-decent reporting system.

So low noses are the new rules? But the Caterham doesn't have a low nose? Or am I being stupid?

Quote from Cornys :Well yes of course, and I'd assume that that would be better, but I don't see how the competitor's head could be spared consistently. Metal (especially light weight metal) bends and breaks like everything else.

Carbon Fibre doesn't bend, it shatters.

Quote from Yuri Laszlo :Really fun race, lots of action, managed not to cause any yellows on my own, very nice.

One thing I would like to suggest for future oval events is allowing (or even enforcing) people to use the dreaded follow cam. The two in-car cameras are terrible for close oval racing because they leave us clueless as to what's going on around us and, unlike real drivers, we don't have spotters telling us whether to go high or low.

Using the follow cam significantly improves spatial awareness, allowing drivers to chose a line more confidently and safely. It is also better for drafting and, specifically, bump-drafting, which the in-car cameras aren't very suited for, leading drivers to involuntarily bump each other mid-turn because the camera perspectives leads them to believe they're a safe distance from the car ahead.

The only downturn of the follow cam is that it doesn't allow us to see who's directly behind us, but that is made redundant in oval racing, given that we can pretty much count on having someone snuck up rear wings all the time.

Inb4 deko rant about how ridiculous he thinks that is

The other bad thing about follow view is that you can't see the front of the car, which can sometimes cause issues with close racing.

Quote from The Very End :Nobody sucks, they lack experience only. I have not watched the replay, and I am not going to, because I belive everyone can be a fair and good driver with the right amount of training.

Well said. Furthermore I have seen you driving Puhba and I promise you when you keep the patience you will do fine soon enough. Just don't try to win the first race you join, learn car & track first, make sure you have good setups (ask people after races) and most important: enjoy.

@Kalev EST: guess you didn't get the cookie with your milk today huh buddy.
